GALVESTON MAN KILLED WHEN LOCOMOTIVE BOILER EXPLODES
FRANK, LAWRENCE D. JR., 28 years old, was killed when the boiler of a Southern Pacific locomotive exploded at Strang yesterday morning. He lived at 806 Eighth Street and until six weeks ago was a member of the local fire department. Frank resigned to accept employment with the Southern Pacific as a brakeman. He was standing between the tender and the locomotive when the boiler exploded. He was killed instantly. Neither the engineer nor fireman was injured. The Body was sent here by Wall & Stabe and received by F. P. Malloy & Son undertakers.
Frank is survived by a wife, a small Daughter, his father, Lawrence D. Frank; two brothers, Ed and Robert P., all of Galveston, and Two sisters, Miss Gertrude Frank and Mrs. J. T. Frank of Houston. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the P.F.I.A. Funeral services will be held at the family residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock, with Rev. A. Guyol of the Sacred Heart Church officiating.

FAGAN, STANISLAUS P., Funeral services for Stanislaus P. Fagan, 75, a resident of Galveston for many years, who died suddenly yesterday morning will be held at the J. Levy & Bro. funeral home this afternoon at 4 o'clock, and then from the Sacred Heart Church, with Rev. Marius B. Chataignon officiating. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery. FAGAN, ELLEN M. - Mrs. Stanislaus J. (Ellen M.) Fagan, a resident of Galveston for 50 years, died Sunday at Turner Geriatric Center at 8:15 am.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Eugene Cargill will officiate.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at Malloy & Son Funeral Home Monday at 7 pm by Father Cargill. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 pm Monday.
A retired nurse, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Woman's Club.
She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and resided at 814 12th St.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Stella Bretz of Evanston, Ill. , a grandson and two great grandchildren.

FAGAN, STANISLAUS J. - Graveside services for Stanislaus J. Fagan, 75, of 1814 12th St., Galveston, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today in Veterans Cemetery in Houston under the direction of Broadway Funeral Home.
Mr. Fagan died Monday at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 1. 1900, in Galveston and was formerly associated with the Yellow Cab Co.

Born Feb. 28, 1890, in Galveston, Mrs. Forgie was a housewife. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Frank of Galveston, several nieces and nephews and great nephews.

FREEMAN, RUTH M. - Austin, TX - Ruth M. Freeman died on October 20, 2003, in Austin, Texas at the age of ninety-two. Ruth was born in North Pelham, New York, on August 15, 1911. The family moved to Galveston, Texas, where Ruth grew up. Ruth married George A. "Pete" Freeman, Jr. of Galveston. They lived for many years in New Orleans, Louisiana, before retiring in Austin, Texas in 1975. They were active members of Faith United Methodist Church in Austin.

FUENTES, ALFONSO RUEDAS 'AL' - Texas City - Alfonso Ruedas "Al" Fuentes, 82, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2003, in Texas City, Texas. A Memorial Service in his memory will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2003, in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston. Mr. Fuentes' family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Cremation will follow services Wednesday in accordance with his wishes. Alfonso, a child of God, was born on October 30, 1921, in San Antonio, Texas, to his loving parents, Gregoria and Leandro Fuentes. For many years he was a Galveston resident, making his home with his family and working on the island. Alfonso worked with Pearl Beer Distributing Company for many years until such time that he retired. After his retirement from Pearl Beer, he worked for The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston and also as a longshoreman for the Galveston Wharves. He was a member in good standing with the ILA Local #20. Alfonso enlisted into the United States Navy and served his country proudly for 8 years during the WWII era. He loved and enjoyed his family very much. Another great joy of his was his time spent playing and coaching the sport of baseball during the late 1940's and early 50's. He held a special love for the Houston Astros. Alfonso is predeceased in death by his parents, Leandro and Gregoria Fuentes; one of his sons, David A. Fuentes and also three of his brothers, Jesse, David and Robert Fuentes. He leaves behind many fond memories with his loving companion, Lucy Escobedo and her family; his two daughters, Yolanda Quintero and husband, Edward Quintero, Jr. and Yvonne Chavez and her husband, Edward Chavez, Jr.; and also his son, Robert W. Fuentes and wife, Rosa. Sharing in his loss, also, are Alfonso's eleven grandchildren, Laurie Cantrell and husband, Buster, Diana Quintero and Christie Ayala of Texas City, Nicole Michelle Chavez, Trey Chavez and Monica Lynn Chavez of League City, Texas, David Thomas Alfonso Fuentes, Stephen Alfonso Fuentes and Magen M. Fuentes of Galveston, Robert Alfonso Fuentes and wife, Rea, Sophia C. Fuentes and Jessica A. Fuentes of Fort Worth, Texas and his two great-grandchildren, Xavier I. Garcia of Fort Worth, Texas and Christian D. Cantrell of Texas City, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and many friends. FRILOUX, CURTIS JOSEPH - Montana — Curtis Joseph Friloux, born August 2, 1925, in St. Rose, Louisiana, passed away April 13, 2008, at home in Alberton, Montana, with his family as was his wish.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Helen Friloux. He is survived by his daughter Dawn Reyes (son in law Alan Reyes) of Alberton, Montana, one brother Lloyd Friloux of Durant, Oklahoma, as well as numerous family members and friends.
Curtis proudly served his country on the USS Washington in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a remarkable flounder fisherman and fished until nearly the end of his life.
